Rare vintage find! Charles Le Maire was a well renowned costume designer.He designed the costumes for movies including All About Eve, Carousel and The Robe and created costumes for Broadway for productions including the Zigfeld Follies.
This 1950s Charles LeMaire creation is simple but elegant in a midnight blue irridescent pique. The dress has two draped panels that hang down in the back and is fully lined. The dress is in amazingly good condition but because it has been hemmed (9" of fabric that could be let out if needed), the hem is coming loose in a few places and there are a few loose stitches at the shoulder straps, the price is a little lower than it would normally be. Great opportunity to own a dress from an historical hollywood designer, and the label is numbered.
