1950’s Ballgown with Mink Trim
This vintage clothing ensemble was purchased at “Doops” a very exclusive Hollywood clothing store, during the 1950’s. This store carried clothing from only the top designers and this outfit bears the “Doops” label. It is a gorgeous iridescent green strapless gown with mink trim and a short shawl type jacket that ties in front. The bodice is lined with mesh and boned, and there are 3 pleats in the front and 3 in the back. 1 ½” fur trim on top of bodice and 1 ½” fur on cuffs of jacket. The jacket has ¾ length sleeves and is also nicely pleated at the shoulders and down the back. Beautifully made and the only problems I can find are a few very tiny pin holes near the hem and the hook that is above the zipper needs a new eye. There is a metal zipper on the side and the only label left is the Doops label.
