Vintage Victorian ivory maxi dress in Ivory cheesecloth gauze fabric
Before Steampunk, before Gunne Sax, before boho, before hippie chic, there were the original Victorian dresses! This beautiful cheesecloth gauze long ivory dress is an original Victorian garment with long semi sheer bell sleeves and metallic trim. There is lace trim around the neckline, smock type pleating on the bodice, and the dress has buttons and snaps in the back. The trim was really just hand basted on the gown, so it could be machine sewn for more security, but other than that, there are no other issues to report. This would make a wonderful alternative wedding gown for the bride who wants a more bohemian look or it could be a great dress to wear casually with the right accessories. Great find!
