Vintage 1900s Edwardian silk and lace wedding gown with lace veil
Vintage Edwardain silk and lace wedding gown from one of our most prominent estates of vintage clothing and accessories. For study or restoration, this candlelight silk and lace gown comes with its with original lace veil. This wedding gown came from an incredible estate and the neice of the original owner of the dress told me that this was a very expensive dress in its day. You can definitely tell that from the quality of the silk lace and charmeuse silk that make up the dress. Unfortunately, price reflects that the lace is torn in several places on both the dress bodice and the veil. The silk is strong, with only 3 pin holes found, but the lace is so fine that it hasn't held up as well. Silk lace is so fragile and though this was preserved properly and stored well, it does need expert repairs or to be replaced. The gown is just so stunning that we had to put it on the site even with the flaws. Slip has Lord and Taylor label and the dress label reads H. Lucy or Luey? and the dress is expertly constructed as shown on additional photos page. Dress has hook and eye closures. There is an additional under slip that is also torn at the lace ruffle only. I wish this one would have been in mint condition, but it is still such a beautiful example of Edwardian wedding gowns!
